Introduction to the Compot recycle pots and their function
What are the recycling pots and how do they function?
The Compot Recycling Pot for domestic use owes its name to the terms compost (organic fertiliser) and pottery (the art of pot making). This technique is based on the combination of the traditional hand made potteries of Crete and the natural humid process of compost making by earthworms. It’ s about a scentless and aesthetic ceramic compost maker of organic waste able to produce high quality organic fertiliser which you can use to water your garden plants regularly with practically no cost.
How does it work? Inside the pot there is a perforated tank where the domestic organic waste ends through the opening in the upper part of the pot. All around the perforated tank there is plant soil where the earthworms live, multiply and perform the compost making. Below the tank there is a horizontal filter which filters the irrigation water. Enriched with the nutricious components of compost making, this water finally ends at a second tank as a liquid fertiliser. At the lower part of the pot theres a tap from which we get the liquid fertiliser and water the pot plants. This way we achieve the concentration of the nutricious components in the liquid fertiliser, which is ready to use every fortnight. We can use the now concentrated liquid fertiliser in our garden or store it for future use.
